Dictionary of available bank fields, source, units and employee definitions. Bank fields are separate from the NCUA list_fields dictionary.
Revenue per employee/FTE with explicit inputs, same-quarter state ranking across banks and/or credit unions. sector='both', 'bank' or 'credit_union'. revenue_basis='net' (after interest expense, default) or 'gross'. Annualized year-to-date run rate, not actual full-year revenue. State filters headquarters. Banks use reported FTE; CUs estimated full-time + half part-time, not identical definitions. Invalid denominators and known reporting-perimeter breaks excluded from ranks and counted. Optional cu_number/cert selects that institution but keeps full peer rank. No raw SQL.
Added "bank_metric_series", "bank_peer_compare", "bank_quarter_income" and 2 more (6 tools before, 11 now)
Time series of one ratio or reported field for FDIC-insured banks, 2018-03 to 2026-06. Give cert (the FDIC certificate number) for one bank. Otherwise it aggregates all domestic insured banks matching the optional state (2-letter code) / size_band (1-5: under $100M, $100M-$500M, $500M-$1B, $1B-$10B, $10B+, by quarter-end assets) / min_assets filters: aggregate='median' (default for ratios), 'mean', 'sum' (default for dollar fields), 'pooled' (the system-wide version of a ratio: total numerators over total denominators), or 'count'. group_by='size_band' or 'state' returns one row per group (de…
One bank against its peers in a quarter (default latest): value, peer median, quartiles and percentile rank for efficiency_ratio, roa_ytd, net_interest_margin_ytd and noninterest_income_share. Percentile rank is the share of peers at or below the bank's value; for efficiency_ratio lower is better. Give the FDIC certificate number (find_bank looks it up by name). peer_basis: 'size_band' (default; bands by quarter-end assets: 1 = under $100M, 2 = $100M-$500M, 3 = $500M-$1B, 4 = $1B-$10B, 5 = $10B+), 'state' (same-state banks), or 'size_band_and_state'. Ratios are fractions on year-to-date flows…
Single-quarter income for one FDIC-insured bank, 2018-03 to 2026-06: the official quarterly net income as published by the FDIC, plus the naive year-to-date difference with a flag where the two disagree (for example merger pushdown accounting). Give the FDIC cert number and either one quarter (default latest) or a start-end range; merger events are attached when recorded. Industry totals reconstructed from these institution values match the FDIC Quarterly Banking Profile in 106 of 136 quarter-metric checks; the 30 exceptions sit in 8 quarters between 2020-06 and 2023-09 (all Q2 or Q4 except 2…

Single-quarter income for one credit union: net income, interest income, interest expense, noninterest income and noninterest expense per quarter (dollars), 2018-03 to the latest quarter. Give cu_number and either one quarter (default latest) or a start-end range. Derived by this project from consecutive year-to-date 5300 call reports (Q1 equals the reported year-to-date). Every row carries a continuity_status checked against NCUA's certified merger and conversion history: rows starting 'verified' are plain values; 'event_contaminated' rows span a merger, purchase-and-assumption or conversion…
Find FDIC-insured banks by name, state or city, in a given quarter (default: latest). Name matching ignores case and punctuation and drops the words 'national association', 'bank', 'the' and 'N.A.', so 'JPMorgan' finds JPMORGAN CHASE BANK, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION; partial names work. Results are ranked: match = exact, starts_with, contains, then larger assets first. Each row has 'ambiguous': true when several different banks fit the name; in that case ask the user which one (use city and state to tell them apart) rather than picking the first. A bank that merged or closed before the quarter does…
