It aggregates tool definitions and exposes only the top-k tools that match the current intent.\n\nThis repository is an **alpha implementation seed**. It is useful for experimenting with tool-list compression, but it is not yet a full production MCP gateway.\n\n---\n\n## What It Does\n\n- Reads a Claude Desktop-style MCP config.\n- Discovers configured MCP servers.\n- Fetches and prefixes upstream tools.\n- Builds a hybrid retrieval index over tool names and descriptions.\n- Filters `tools/list` results using:\n  - explicit CLI intent;\n  - a runtime `shutup__set_intent` tool;\n  - fallback behavior when no intent is known.\n- Routes `tools/call` to the correct upstream server.\n- Supports local embedding backends:\n  - `sentence-transformers`;\n  - `ollama`.\n\n---\n\n## What It Does Not Yet Do\n\nThis alpha does not yet provide:\n\n- full MCP request proxying for every capability;\n- persistent upstream sessions for every server;\n- guaranteed client-side dynamic intent detection across all MCP clients;\n- production authentication or sandboxing;\n- benchmark-backed token or latency claims.\n\nEarlier README versions included strong reduction metrics.
