It implements the rigctl network protocol, allowing frequency tuning, mode selection, and recording control.\n\n## Features\n\n- **Frequency Control**: Set and query radio frequency in Hz\n- **Mode Control**: Select demodulation mode (FM, WFM, AM, USB, LSB, CW, DSB, RAW)\n- **Recording Control**: Start/stop audio recording\n- **Quick FM Tuning**: Convenience tool for tuning FM broadcast stations (88-108 MHz)\n- **Timed Recording**: Record audio for a specified duration with automatic start/stop\n\n## Supported Applications\n\nAny application that supports the Hamlib rigctl network protocol:\n\n- **SDR++** - Popular cross-platform SDR application\n- **GQRX** - Linux SDR receiver\n- **CubicSDR** - Cross-platform SDR application\n- **rigctld** - Hamlib network daemon for hardware radios\n\n## Installation\n\n### Using uvx (recommended)\n\n```bash\nuvx rigctl-mcp\n```\n\n### Using pip\n\n```bash\npip install rigctl-mcp\n```\n\n### From source (development)\n\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/Zappatta/rigctlmcp.git\ncd rigctlmcp\npip install -e .\n```\n\n## Setup\n\n### SDR++ Configuration\n\n1. Open SDR++\n2. Enable the **Rigctl Server** module in Module Manager\n3. Configure rigctl settings:\n - **Port**: 4532 (default Hamlib port)\n - **Bind Address**:\n - `0.0.0.0` if using from Docker\n - `127.0.0.1` if running locally\n4. Connect to your SDR device\n\n### Docker Note\n\nIf running the MCP server in Docker, the rigctl server must bind to `0.0.0.0` to be accessible from the container.
