Drop a \n`plugin.toml` next to any MCP server and Mimir discovers it, mounts it \nunder its own namespace, scopes its credentials, filters its tools, and \nexposes the union to your client (Claude Desktop, an agent in a loop, \nanything that speaks MCP over stdio). \n \nWhat sets Mimir apart from other MCP aggregators: \n \n- **Declarative plugin contract** — every plugin ships its own \n  `plugin.toml` describing identity, runtime, security, requirements. \n  No central config to keep in sync. \n- **Inventory separated from plugins** — operators describe their \n  infrastructure in `inventory/*.yaml` (hosts, services). Plugins ask \n  the router *\"give me hosts of type X\"* — they never hardcode IPs or \n  hostnames. \n- **LLM-guided onboarding** — when a plugin needs hosts or credentials \n  the operator hasn't supplied, the router exposes a `setup_<plugin>()` \n  meta-tool. The LLM walks the operator through what's missing, \n  conversation by conversation. \n- **Layered security** — manifest quarantine, audit log, scoped \n  credential vault, profile gate, tool whitelist/blacklist, and \n  cross-plugin env scoping in subprocess.
