More models are coming soon.\n  )\n- Real-time streaming of responses with step-by-step reasoning\n- Support for MCP server tools with interactive execution:\n- Rich content display\n- Interactive chat interface\n\n## Requirements\n\n- JupyterLab >= 4.0.0\n- An Anthropic API key for Claude access\n- Running MCP server(s) for tool integration (optional)\n\n## Model Configuration\n\nThe extension supports multiple Claude models through the Anthropic API. You'll need to:\n\n1. Obtain an Anthropic API key from [Anthropic's website](https://www.anthropic.com)\n2. Configure your models in JupyterLab's Settings Editor under the \"MCP Chat\" section\n3. For each model, provide:\n   - Name (e.g., \"gpt-4\")\n   - API Key\n   - Set as default (optional)\n\n## Install\n\nTo install the extension, execute:\n\n```bash\npip install mcp_client_jupyter_chat\n```\n\n## Uninstall\n\nTo remove the extension, execute:\n\n```bash\npip uninstall mcp_client_jupyter_chat\n```\n\n## Contributing\n\n### Development install\n\nNote: You will need NodeJS to build the extension package.\n\nThe `jlpm` command is JupyterLab's pinned version of\n[yarn](https://yarnpkg.com/) that is installed with JupyterLab.
