It allows tools like **Cursor**, **Gemini-CLI**, and **Claude Code-Cli** to retain and recall information across sessions.\n\nIt runs as a standalone server on your local machine, acting as a language-agnostic, pluggable brain for your favorite AI tools.\n\n## ⚙️ How It Works\n\nThe architecture is a standard client-server model based on the MCP standard:\n\n`[Your Agent / IDE] <--> [MCP (JSON-RPC over HTTP)] <--> [Core Memory Service]`\n\n1.  You run the Core Memory service.\n2.  You configure your client application (e.g., Cursor, Gemini-CLI) to connect to the service.\n3.  Your client application can then discover and execute the memory tools (`memory.add`, `memory.search`, etc.) provided by the service.\n\n## 🚀 Installation\n\n> ⚠️ **Note**: The package is not yet published to PyPI. The following are the planned installation methods.\n\nIt is recommended to install the package via pip once it is published:\n\n```bash\npip install core-memory-mcp\n```\n\nAlternatively, for development, you can clone the repository and install it in editable mode:\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/michaelfeng/CoreMemory-MCP.git\ncd CoreMemory-MCP\npip install -e .\n```\n\n## ▶️ Running the Service\n\nIf you installed the package via pip, you can start the service by running the following command in your terminal:\n\n```bash\ncore-memory-server\n```\n\nIf you are running from the source code, you can also run the script directly:\n```bash\npython memory_service.py\n```\n\nYou will see output indicating the service is running and ready to accept connections:\n```\n--- Starting Core Memory MCP Service ---\nCompatible with the Model Context Protocol.\nListening on http://127.0.0.1:5001\nAcces…","publisher":null,"homepage":"https://github.com/michaelfeng/CoreMemory-MCP","repository":"https://github.com/michaelfeng/CoreMemory-MCP/issues","version":"0.1.6","license":"GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE\n        Version 3, 29 June 2007\n    …","protocols":["mcp"],"tags":["mcp"],"pricing":null,"endpoints":[{"url":"pypi:core-memory-mcp","type":"package_pypi","auth":null,"probeable":false}],"skills":null,"tools":null,"extra":null,"attribution":{"kind":"pypi","name":"pypi","license":"pypi","repoUrl":"pypi","summary":"pypi","version":"pypi","description":"pypi","homepageUrl":"pypi"}},"derived":{"capabilities":[{"slug":"dev.version-control","name":"Version Control","confidence":1,"provenance":"derived"},{"slug":"knowledge.memory","name":"Agent Memory","confidence":1,"provenance":"derived"},{"slug":"dev.terminal","name":"Terminal & Shell","confidence":0.779,"provenance":"derived"},{"slug":"dev.package-management","name":"Packages & Dependencies","confidence":0.768,"provenance":"derived"}],"categories":["dev","knowledge"],"language":"en"},"observed":{"status":"unknown","statusReason":"Distributed as a package to run locally; no network endpoint to check.","lastOkAt":null,"lastProbedAt":null,"statusComputedAt":null,"reliability30d":null,"latestObservations":[],"tools":null,"package":{"name":"core-memory-mcp","registry":"pypi","observedAt":"2026-10-27T22:27:52.150Z","publishedAt":"2025-09-25T23:46:59.777563Z","latestVersion":"0.1.6"},"toolSurface":null,"endpointFacts":[]},"verification":{"claimed":false,"claimedAt":null,"proofs":[]},"provenance":{"sources":[{"source":"pypi","key":"core-memory-mcp","url":"https://pypi.org/project/core-memory-mcp/","firstSeenAt":"2026-09-09T13:20:32.501Z","fetchedAt":"2026-10-27T22:26:56.288Z","normalizedAt":"2026-10-27T22:26:56.288Z"}]},"firstSeenAt":"2026-09-09T13:20:32.501Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-27T22:27:52.150Z"}
